Kayseri is known as the city of mausoleums, the most famous of which is the Revolving Dome lying to the southwest of the city. It was built in 1276 for Sultan Alaeddin Keykubad’s daughter Cihan Hatun. It’s one of the masterpieces of the Seldjuk art of stone-cutting with plant and animal figures, and geometric designs on it.
