The church is located at the distance of twenty-minute walk, in a picturesque ravine; its damaged iconographs are dominated by green and brown colors, suggesting archaic origin. The church is dated. It was consacreted during the reign of Emperor Constantin Porphyrogenetes (913-959), a nickame meaning “purpleface.” The still recognizable murals show the customary scenes adopted from the New Testament.
