OTHER SITES OF INTEREST cappadocia The Hüdavent Hatun tomb. Erected in 1312 for the daughter of Sultan Rüknettin, the mausoleum is a part of Seljuk architcture, exquisitely decorated with birds, animals and plants. The Sungur Bey Mosque and tomb carry the name of the Mongolian warlord whose tribe dominated Nigde around 1335.

Twelve kilometers from Nigde, the village of Gümüşler has an interesting rock-cut church, the Kaya Kilise (Rock Church).
