Agzıkarahan is situated not far away from Aksaray and is very well preserved. It was one of the main caravanserais on the road between Konya and Kayseri. The inscription over the monumental portal through which we enter the winter section, tells us that the construction of this caravanserai has been started by master Hodja Mesud bin Abdullah in the reign of the Seldjuk Sultan Alaeddin Keykubad, and was finished under Sultan Gıyaseddin Keyhüsrev.

At the portals of this caravanserai geometric designs replace human and animal figures, and floral decorations. We see a small mosque built on pillars right in the middle of the main courtyard.
